Pupil Premium

What is Pupil Premium Grant (PPG)?

This is funding which is allocated to schools by the Government to enable disadvantaged pupils of all abilities to reach their potential.

Who is eligible for the PPG?

  • Children from low-income families who are currently eligible for Free School Meals (FSM). Children may qualify if their household receives Universal Credit and has an annual earned income of £7,400 or less (after tax, excluding benefits).
  • Looked after children.
  • Children who have been adopted.
  • Children of Service Personnel.

How is the money spent?

With the exception of looked after children, the school makes the decision how the money is best used to be as effective as possible. Each year the school produces a strategy plan to address any barriers that may exist in preventing disadvantaged pupils from reaching their full potential.
