Mini Vinnies

Our Mini Vinnies are led by Mrs Orford and play a valuable part of our school community with their fantastic fundraising efforts and care for others who may be less fortunate than themselves.

We have a very active group of Mini Vinnies from across Key Stage 2, who meet with Mrs Orford and this year have led on Harvest assembly and collecting for those in need and play a huge part of peer support to each other in school and caring for others in the Urmston community.

Mini Vinnies is a Christian organisation which encourages children to put their faith into action.
Mini Vinnies is a group of primary school young people who get together to help those in need within their school and local community. Mini Vinnies introduces children to social justice issues and to living faith through action as part of the St Vincent de Paul Society.

Mini Vinnies is about praying and doing good works in the community, but it is also about young people meeting to talk, to share ideas and concerns, to have fun and to support each other.

The Mini Vinnies model of ‘See, Think, Do’ is a great way to get young people thinking and talking about their spirituality. By connecting their beliefs and values with service activities and issues in their community, they can help to make their faith real, meaningful and relevant.

Our logo is based on a Celtic Cross emphasising that SVP’s mission is to help others in a practical way based on our belief in Christ and in his Gospel message. The ring that supports the arms of the cross reminds us of the loving care and concern we have for others.

We are proud of the Mini Vinnies prayer and song which we say and sing with pride
